This week’s Copse Magazine product(s) of the week is a collection of stunning mixed media, cork and steel tables from a powerful yet understated Portugese design duo – Filipa Mendes and Gustavo Macedo and their Grão collection for their Galula studio.
Mendes and Macedo have produced an attractive table collection with a mix of both the materials and colours between the natural look and feel of the cork tabletops and the light but industrial feel of the steel legs to give the ‘Grão’ table a versatile character able to integrate into any environment. With solid cork tops, the tables are visually striking with an appearence of high quality and distinction and yet soft to the touch, making them appropriate for home or office.
Galula is a Portuguese lighting and furniture brand and was created by the two designers Filipa Mendes and Gustavo Macedo.
Galula design products are made to last, everything’s made in the brand’s native country, Portugal, where there is a great industry full of skilled and experienced craftsmen as well as cutting-edge technology that we apply to the production of Galula products.
Galula’s Grão table collection has 3 differing table sizes, and while a lot of the metalwork across the various Galula furniture range can be colour-matched throughout your home, the Grão table legs are more restricted with just the two colour options of black or white for the metalwork and the cork is available in dark or light.
The metal legs of the tables have been designed to provide an intentionally sharp, dramatic look given by the various angles as they meet the table tops.
All the tabels are available in four colour combinations (cork tops light/black, legs white/black) and the larger table is priced at around EUR365 and the smaller coffee table is priced at around EUR325. The side table is priced at EUR275.
